One gun forward and two angled thrusters behind. It's the fastest gun class at tier 3 and the only one where firing at your target pushes you towards it instead of away.

Vector is about speed first and shooting second. The body is 30% faster than a Recruit's, so at level 30 you top out at 218 px/s while most tier-3 classes manage 168. That 50 px/s gap is huge, and only the gunless Bastion is faster at this tier. You choose every fight, and you leave every fight you don't like.
The rear barrels are real thrusters on this class. They point backwards at 30° either side of straight back, so each one's kick pushes you mostly forward. Together they outweigh the front barrel's kick backwards, and each volley nets you a push forward of about three quarters of a Recruit shot. Holding fire while you move forward makes you faster. That's the opposite of almost every other class, and it's why a Vector can run down tanks that think they've escaped.
Forward damage is modest: one 8.8-damage bullet per volley, about 15 damage a second at 0 points. The rear pair fire at the same time and hit anything chasing you, at an angle. Most of your kills come from choosing the moment, not from out-trading anyone. You arrive, you hit the target that's already damaged or already busy, and you leave before its friends turn around.
Vector is the tier-3 home of ramming builds for gun classes. With your speed and some points in Body Damage, touching another tank hurts it, and you're fast enough to choose when that happens. Body damage here is a normal tank's, with no class bonus, so the damage comes from your points. What Vector adds is the speed to make contact happen on your terms.
Vector beats slow classes that rely on distance. Nightfall, Sighthound and Snare all need you to stay away, and you won't. It beats anything that's already low, because it gets there first. It's the best class at tier 3 for cleaning up after other people's fights.
It loses to anything that puts out a lot of damage forward once you're committed. A Volley at 67 damage a second, a close Buckshot spray or a Sledge shell will punish a straight-line dive. It struggles against Triad Sentry, whose turrets track you on their own no matter how you juke. And your body is normal: 108 HP at level 30. Being fast doesn't make you tanky.
Pick one of two plans and commit.
Either way, Movement Speed is never wasted here: each point multiplies your speed by 1.09, on top of the 1.3 body.
Afterburner is the pure speed pick. Interceptor keeps more of a gun.
