A long-range class with two barrels stacked on top of each other. It gives up a little of Nightfall's reach for twice the damage per second, and it has a burst mode most players never find.
At 0 stat points. Bullet speed and range include the global bullet-speed and range multipliers.

Sighthound's two barrels point the same way and fire the same bullet speed, so everything goes down one line. In normal mode they alternate: long barrel, short barrel, long barrel, one shot every 0.43 seconds. That's 24 damage a second at 0 points, twice what Nightfall does, while still reaching 628 px, nearly double the range of any Duet- or Rattler-line class.
So the trade against Nightfall is 100 px of range and some bullet speed, for double the damage per second and a much steadier stream. At long range a Nightfall miss costs 1.33 seconds. A Sighthound miss costs 0.43.
The burst key (Q by default) changes how the barrels fire. With burst on, both barrels fire together on the same cycle, so two bullets arrive on the same spot at the same time: 20.8 damage in one hit every 0.86 seconds. Your damage per second is the same, but it arrives in lumps. Burst is better when you get a clean shot at a target that'll dodge a stream, and against drones or shapes you want to break in one go. Alternating is better for pressure and for tracking something moving, because a steady stream corrects itself.
The short barrel fires a bigger bullet, radius 11.5 against the long barrel's 8.5. It's a bit easier to land and it does the same damage.
Recoil is light: 0.3× a Recruit shot per bullet, a tenth of what a Vantage or Nightfall feels. You can hold fire while you move and barely drift. That makes Sighthound the sniper that can shoot while repositioning, but it also means the kick won't carry you away from a diver the way a Nightfall's does. You have to walk.
Sighthound beats every class that can't reach 628 px, just like Nightfall, but it kills them faster once they're in range. It beats Shepherd better than Nightfall does: bullets hit drones for double damage, so a 25-health drone dies to two of your bullets, and you fire three times as often as a Nightfall. In a sniper duel with a Nightfall inside 628 px, you have the damage advantage.
It loses to a Nightfall that stays between 628 and 728 px, where it can reach you and you can't reach it. Like any sniper it loses to fast divers, Vector and Bastion especially, though your faster fire makes the last 200 px of their approach much more painful for them than it would be against Nightfall.
Both keep the burst toggle. Apex leans into it, Cascade mostly doesn't need it.
