Last updated September 19, 2026. This page says exactly what surgio.gg stores, why it stores it, and what you can do about it. I wrote it against the actual code, so if something here is ever wrong, that's a bug and I want to hear about it.
surgio.gg is a browser game built and run by one developer, Tobias. When this page says "I", that's who it means. The quickest way to reach me about anything on this page is the surgio.gg Discord.
You can play without an account, and most people do. When you do, the game server sees what every website sees: your IP address and your browser's user agent. Here's what happens to that:
An account lets you keep stats, earn achievements and show up on the leaderboards. It stores:
Your email is used to verify the account and to send password reset links. Those emails are sent through Resend, an email delivery service. I don't send marketing email and I don't sell or share your address.
Your username and your leaderboard results are public, because that's the point of a leaderboard. Nothing else about your account is shown to other players.
The game saves a few things in your browser's local storage so they survive a refresh: your last name and game mode, your settings (controls, sound, HUD size), and, if you log in, your session token. For a reconnect after a dropped connection it also keeps a short-lived token in session storage. None of this is sent anywhere except your session token, which goes back to surgio.gg to keep you logged in. Clearing your browser data removes all of it.
surgio.gg itself doesn't set tracking cookies. The only cookie it sets is a login cookie for the private test server, which only testers ever see.
Some pages on this site show ads served by Google AdSense. Google and its partners use cookies to serve ads based on your previous visits to this site and other sites. Google's use of advertising cookies lets it and its partners show you ads based on those visits. You can opt out of personalized advertising in Google's Ads Settings, and you can read how Google uses information from sites that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. Visitors in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland are shown a consent choice before personalized ads are used.

surgio.gg isn't directed at children under 13, and I don't knowingly collect personal information from them. You don't need an account to play. If you think a child under 13 has made an account, tell me and I'll delete it.
Message me through the surgio.gg Discord with your username and I'll delete your account and everything tied to it, or send you a copy of what's stored. I'll ask you to prove it's your account first, usually by logging in and showing me something only you can see, because deleting the wrong account would be worse than not deleting one.
If what the game collects changes, this page changes with it, and the date at the top moves.
