Two paired barrels forward and two paired barrels back, all firing together. It keeps a Duet's forward damage, covers your back, and never gets pushed around by its own shots.

Crossfire puts two full-damage bullets forward and two backwards every half second. Forward, that's 32 damage a second at 0 points, a little more than the Duet it can come from, and about two and a half times what a Trident puts on a single target. Backwards it's the same again, at whatever is behind you.
The difference from Duet is that the forward pair fires together rather than alternating. You get a double-thick bullet pair twice a second instead of a smooth stream. Against a single tank that's the same damage. Against small shapes the pair is 20 px wide, so it's a little more forgiving of your aim.
The real point of Crossfire is that your back is never empty. Anything following you is getting shot the whole time, and you don't have to turn around. That makes retreating a lot safer than it is on most classes: you can run straight away from a chaser and your rear pair is still doing 32 damage a second into it.
Recoil is zero. The front and rear pairs kick equally in opposite directions. Holding fire doesn't push you anywhere, so you can chase or run at full speed while shooting. If you came from Rearguard you'll know this feeling. If you came from Duet it'll feel strangely stable.
You do lose the Rearguard's speed bonus. Crossfire's body is a normal body, 168 px/s at level 30.
Crossfire beats chasers. A rammer or a close-range class that tries to run you down eats your rear pair the whole way in. It's good in team fights where enemies come from both sides, and it's good at farming while moving, because both ends of the tank are doing work.
It loses to long-range classes the same way the whole Duet line does: your bullets stop at 331 px. A Nightfall at 700 px can shoot you all day. It loses face to face against classes that put everything forward, like a Volley or a close Buckshot, because half your damage is going the wrong way.
If you're planning on Dreadnought at 45, know that it's a drone class, and on a drone class the three bullet stats become Drone Speed, Drone Penetration and Drone Damage. Your bullet points carry over as drone points, so they aren't wasted. Reload is a different story: Dreadnought's drones come out on a fixed timer, so Reload points do nothing for them.
