Trebler

Wiki › Classes › Tier 4

Trebler is the focused ending of the Trident branch: three barrels side by side, all pointing the same way. It has the least raw output of the three Trident endings and the most of it landing where you aim.

Every number here is at 0 stat points, before the per-level health bonus and the per-level speed penalty that every tank gets. The automatic balancer can nudge a class's damage and health over time, so treat these as the roster's base values.

How it plays

Trebler fires three bullets side by side a little over twice a second. The outer barrels sit 10 px either side of the centre one and point straight ahead, so the three lanes stay parallel. A tank body is 40 px across, which means all three bullets hit a target you've aimed at, whether it's 50 px away or 330. Only the ±2° spread loosens that at long range.

That's the whole appeal. Trebler's output is about 31 damage per second at 0 points, less than Pentad's 47 or Fanblade's 38 when everything lands. But the fan classes only land everything point blank. Past about 75 px Pentad is down to its centre bullet, roughly 9 damage per second, and Fanblade is worse. Trebler keeps all 31 out to the end of its range. At any distance beyond arm's length it's the strongest gun in the family.

The recoil is the gentlest in the Trident family, 0.5 of a Recruit's per barrel. It adds up to a mild backward drift while you hold fire, enough to help you kite and not enough to wreck your positioning.

What it beats and what beats it

Trebler beats other short-range bullet classes in straight fights at mid range because more of its damage lands. Against Fanblade and Pentad at 200 to 300 px you're landing three bullets to their one. It handles rammers like Caltrop reasonably if you back off while firing, because every volley that connects is a full one.

It struggles against anything that outranges 331 px, like Horizon, Apex and the Sledge missile classes. It's worse than the fan classes at dealing with drone swarms that come from several directions, since your three lanes cover a strip about 40 px wide. Point blank, a Pentad out-damages you. In a bullet collision each bullet loses penetration equal to the other's damage, so at 2 penetration your bullets die to almost anything they touch. Three bullets in one lane still strip a heavy shell quickly, and penetration points let yours keep going afterwards.

Building your stats

A strong 33-point build: Bullet Damage 7, Reload 7, Bullet Penetration 7, Bullet Speed 5, Movement Speed 5, Max Health 2.

Picking it over the other tier 4 options from the same parent

Trident leads to Trebler, Pentad and Fanblade. Trebler is the duelist. It has the lowest raw output of the three, the lowest recoil, and the only layout where every bullet can hit one target at range.

Pick it if you fight other tanks at mid range and trust your aim. Pick Pentad if you want to win fights point blank, where its 47 damage per second beats your 31. Pick Fanblade if you mostly farm or fight in crowds where coverage matters more than focus.
