Nightveil

Wiki › Classes › Tier 4

Nightveil is a sniper that vanishes. Stop moving long enough and other players, bots and auto-aiming guns can't see you, and your shots hit harder while you're hidden.

Every number here is at 0 stat points, before the per-level health bonus and the per-level speed penalty that every tank gets. The automatic balancer can nudge a class's damage and health over time, so treat these as the roster's base values.

How it plays

Nightveil's cloak runs on one rule: it only cares about movement input. Stop pressing movement keys and a timer starts. For 2 seconds nothing happens, then you fade steadily until you're fully invisible at 10 seconds. The moment you press a movement key, the timer resets and you're fully visible again. Firing doesn't count as movement, and neither does the recoil from your own shots, so you can stand still and keep shooting without losing the cloak.

Once you're fully cloaked, your shots deal 50% more damage: 26.4 instead of 17.6 at 0 points. Each shot briefly flickers you to 45% opacity for 0.4 seconds. That flicker is visible to everyone nearby, and while it lasts, bots and auto turrets can target you. After it ends you're invisible again, and your cloak and damage bonus were never interrupted.

A fully faded tank is not just hard to see. Enemy bots, auto turrets and drones skip you when they pick targets. Other players see nothing unless you shoot. That's the class: find a line, sit still for 10 seconds, and fire heavy shots from a spot nobody can find without watching for the flicker.

What it beats and what beats it

Nightveil is at its best against players who don't know it's there. It's excellent at picking off tanks that farm the same area, and it's a nightmare for auto-turret classes like Penta Sentry and Sentry, whose turrets simply don't see you. Drone classes that rely on auto-targeting get nothing back while you're hidden.

The cloak does nothing once you're found. Fast classes that saw your flicker, like Afterburner and Interceptor, will run you down, and moving to escape resets your timer. Horizon has more range and a bigger view. Drone swarms steered by a player's cursor still hit you, because the cursor doesn't need to see you. Your penetration is only 3, so almost any bullet that crosses your shot's path erases it.

Picking it over the other tier 4 options from the same parent

Nightfall leads to Nightveil and Horizon.

Horizon is the better class if you move around the map. It has more range (926 px against 794), faster shots, more penetration, a heavy round every third shot and a wider view, and none of that depends on standing still.

Nightveil is the better class if you're patient. Once cloaked it hits 50% harder than its base, which puts its per-shot damage above Horizon's, and it's invisible to bots and turrets. It's the stronger ambusher and the weaker rover. Take it if you enjoy holding a position.
